Level 1
Progressing Together Level 1 is a discipleship program for new believers to enable them to walk with the Lord, feed themselves on the Word of God and integrate into fellowship with other believers. It offers 11 course topics each with 5 key discipleship studies for a total of 55 lessons. Students prepare each lesson as they study Bible passages individually and then share their discoveries with others under the guidance of a group leader. As students progress they grow in spiritual discernment, in stability of walk, and in ability to disciple others.
A variety of study options are available. Study groups could meet weekly, once every other week, or intensively—completing a full course of 5 lessons in a weekend or one each evening for a week. Individual learning options include face-to-face study, distance corresponding and Internet tutoring.
Level 2
The Level 2 Certificate of Christian Service program offers Biblically-based advanced discipleship and ministry training. It is designed for:
1) Those who have completed a basic discipleship program (Level 1 or other) and who want to grow in their knowledge of God and His Word.
2) Those being equipped to serve the Church as small group leaders, teachers and elders.
The program is equivalent to one year of study at a Bible college or institute. It is divided into 11 course modules: 10 core courses + 1 ministry elective. Each course represents 60-90 hours of study, class-time and practical ministry activities. Students can complete the program through part-time study in 3-4 years while engaged in work and/or ministry activity or through one year of full-time study.
Level 1 – Orality version
The Progressing Together – Orality version is a discipleship program for new believers that has been designed specifically for those who favour oral communication and would rather learn in a group setting than individually. This includes learners who have a high level of education but who prefer an oral learning style; those who have had limited schooling and may experience difficulties when following a written course; or simply those who never learned to read. This program is particularly appropriate for groups of mixed educational levels.
The program covers seventy major topics of discipleship. A variety of methods are used to help the new believers understand, retain and apply the biblical truths they are learning: various memorisation tools, drama, miming, drawing, audio-visual resources, songs, prayer, discussion times, practical applications, etc. Training seminars are being organised to equip oral group facilitators so they can teach the course effectively.
